Shoe Flinging Part II

Since my post on flinging shoes across power lines aired last week, inside sources tell me about an oddly local custom of flinging shoes into a tree up in the mountains.

To further complicate things, the tree was downed in a storm and now confused shoe flingers are tossing into any old tree...

I tossed a corduroy hat up in that tree while running around Eureka Springs a few Christmases ago. The wifey and I were gonna hike part of the Ozark National Trail to Blachard Springs Caverns. Somehow we stumbled upon that very tree. I had this nasty hat that she hated. So we had a ceremony of sorts while marveling at the shoe tree and I chucked it up on to a limb. I gotta pic somewhere. I'll see if I can dig it up later.
